In a three year, three phase project, Ellingson Companies, partnered with Lakeside Foods in Owatonna, MN, to trenchlessly replace approximately 16,000’ of 18” Ductile Iron Pipe that was failing and leaking due to corrosion. Ellingson Companies replaced the failing 18” pipe with a durable, high quality 12” HDPE pipe using the slip lining process*.
The final phase of the project, completed in April 2009, consisted of 10,600’ of 12” HDPE and was was swiftly installed. A quick, accurate installation was crucial for Lakeside Foods as they needed a fully functioning system to continue their daily operations and discharge their spray field. Time was not the only vital aspect of this project; the project required Ellingson Companies to install HDPE under two roads, including US Highway 14 and also ran parallel to rail lines serving the area. Ellingson Companies also reconnected air release manholes, installed isolation valves and rebuilt the existing lagoon discharge at the spray field during the final phase of this three year project.
Ellingson Companies recommended using the Slip-Lining process for this important project because of the time, money and restoration it would save Lakeside Foods. Ellingson Companies is proud to offer state-of-the-art services custom designed to meet the specific needs of each of our clients.
